The team at Ira Toyota of Orleans knows an important factor when considering your next ride is fuel economy. Every driver wants to spend more time on the road and less time refueling. Check out this page to learn about the Toyota RAV4’s MPG for both its gas and hybrid-powered engines!

Gas-Powered RAV4 MPG

Toyota RAV4The RAV4 has two engine options for drivers: a gas engine and a hybrid engine. In this section, we’ll cover the MPG for the gas engine.

The RAV4’s gas engine is a 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine that generates 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque when paired with the standard 8-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission. With this engine, you’ll also get SPORT, Eco, and NORMAL modes so you can change your driving experience as you like.

You’ll get an EPA-estimated 27 city/35 highway MPG with standard front-wheel drive.* If you opt for available all-wheel drive, your fuel economy shifts to 27 city/34 highway MPG.*

RAV4 Hybrid MPG

For drivers who prefer a hybrid, the RAV4 has you covered with its available hybrid 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine with an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT).

With the combination of electric motor and gas engine, the Hybrid RAV4 has an impressive 219 combined horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. Like the gas engine, the hybrid engine also has several drive modes, including SPORT, Eco, NORMAL, EV, and TRAIL modes.

Standard with the RAV4 hybrid, you’ll also get Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which provides the traction you need when you need it. With the hybrid engine and electric AWD, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 41 city/38 highway MPG.*

Fuel-Saving Tech

Toyota RAV4The RAV4 has quite a few features to help you save a bit of fuel while you’re on the go.

One of these features is the drive modes that come with both engines. As we covered above, each drive mode tailors your driving experience. The SPORT Mode has sharp acceleration, while NORMAL Mode blends fuel economy and performance. Eco Mode focuses on fuel efficiency, so you can go further without stopping.

When you’re driving for long periods on the highway, one way to save fuel is by using cruise control. Cruise control keeps your vehicle at a steady pace without a lot of intense acceleration.

The RAV4 has an upgraded version of cruise control called Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. This feature allows you to set a speed and following distance from the vehicle ahead. Your RAV4 will then speed up and slow down as needed to maintain that speed and distance.
