Hybrid vs. Gas Thank You for Choosing Ira Toyota of Orleans

If you're looking for something that's more fuel-efficient to drive around Cape Cod, you might be considering a hybrid vehicle. Compared to traditional gas-powered vehicles, hybrid vehicles combine a gasoline combustion engine and a battery-powered electric motor, significantly increasing your fuel economy rating. When you shop at our dealership, you'll discover there are plenty of Toyota Hybrid models that can help you drive much more efficiently.

Discover more about how hybrid vehicles compare to gas vehicles, and visit our dealership to see which of our available Toyota Hybrid models would be a perfect fit for you!

Hybrid vs. Gas: What’s the Difference?

The biggest difference between a hybrid and a gas-powered vehicle is the electric motor inside a hybrid vehicle. Hybrids and gas-powered vehicles have a combustion engine, but only hybrids have an additional electric motor, contributing to better fuel economy than gas-powered vehicles. With assistance from the combustion engine, most hybrids self-charge the electric motor as you drive around Eastham, meaning you’ll rarely ever have to plug in a hybrid to charge it.

The exception to self-charging is if you drive a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), which has a larger electric motor than standard hybrids and provides more electric drive range. However, PHEVs, as their names suggest, can only be recharged by plugging them into a charging station.
